We connect 18 to 24-year-olds with seasoned professionals for an immersive experience to learn, network, develop skills, and prepare for various careers in the live music industry.

JOB SHADOW PROGRAM

A concert series in partnership with Goldenvoice, which connects Live Out L!ve job shadow young professionals to hands-on experience producing and booking an UnRestricted_Live concert.  

UNRESTRICTED_LIVE

We partner with various colleges and universities to offer hands-on experience to students interested in learning more about pursuing careers in the live music industry.

HOW THE LOL FOUNDATION WORKS

WE PARTNER WITH COMMUNITIES, CORPORATIONS, AND SKILL-BASED VOLUNTEERS TO PRODUCE PROGRAMMING AND EVENTS AND CREATE internships, workshops, AND mentorships TO PREPARE BLACK AND LATINX TEEN AND YOUNG ADULT TALENT FOR CAREERS IN THE LIVE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY.

OUR Mission

WE EXIST TO BRING PATHWAYS TO INCLUSIVITY IN THE LIVE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY. OUR MAIN ACT IS TO SET THE STAGE AND LIGHT IT WITH RESOURCES, EDUCATION, AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR BLACK, LATINX, AND UNDERREPRESENTED TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS TO PURSUE CAREERS IN TOURING AND BOOKING.

In partnership with the GRAMMY Museum (GRAMMY U), this group mentorship program builds community amongst industry leaders, young adults, and potential talent. It is a yearly series of panel discussions on booking, tour management, production, and marketing.

#BEYONDTHEMAINSTAGE

A group of 50 diverse students of color, ages 14-22, participates in this three-month virtual program twice a year. Mentees are paired 1:1 with professionals and spend half the mentorship exploring job roles and responsibilities, then the next half creating an action plan to apply for an internship, work at a live event, and more.

LIVE OUT L!VE NATIONAL MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

MENTORSHIPS

Interactive in-person workshops created exclusively for 1500 Sound Academy students to teach touring and booking basics, including vocabulary, job titles and duties, and more.

TOURING 360

Developed exclusively for Compton Unified School District (CUSD) and led by Black female entrepreneurs in the live music business, this networking and educational workshop allows students to hear from executives and build relationships.

An expert with more than a decade of experience in touring and booking, CEO and founder Candace Newman represents the Foundation to provide insights and perspective to live music education conferences and discussions.

BLACK, LATINX, AND OTHER MARGINALIZED GROUPS ARE UNDERREPRESENTED IN THE LIVE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY BUT SIGNIFICANTLY INFLUENCE LIVE MUSIC CULTURE. WE ARE BREAKING COLOR, RACE, GENDER, AND OTHER BARRIERS TO TURN THEIR INFLUENCE INTO AN IMPACT IN THE WORKFORCE.

COMMUNITY UPLIFTS AND HELPS YOU GROW. WE ARE BUILDING COMMUNITY BY CREATING SAFE, INFORMATIVE SPACES FOR YOUNG ADULTS AND TEENS TO DISCOVER UNTAPPED TALENT. WE BELIEVE THAT WHEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY AND SUPPORT TO THRIVE, YOU'RE EMPOWERED TO LIVE OUT L!VE!

SYSTEMATIC BARRIERS MAKE IT HARDER FOR UNDERREPRESENTED TALENT TO BE CULTIVATED AND EMPLOYED. WE BELIEVE THAT WITH EXPOSURE AND ON-HAND EXPERIENCE, MORE DIVERSE TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS WILL GRAVITATE TO CAREER PATHS IN LIVE ENTERTAINMENT PRODUCTION.
